Safety Week Events at National Jewish Health in Denver

National Jewish Health publishes an employee newsletter quarterly entitled "Clinical News." The March issue is devoted to NPSW, and all the content highlights existing practices that promote patient safety: Daily Team Huddles in three areas; pre-procedure case reviews conducted 24 hours prior to elective procedures to ID potential risks; antimicrobial stewardship efforts, and drug safety. Additionally, we are planning a daily e-mail message, and daily presentations. One will be on our outpatient hypoglycemia protocol; one on basic wheelchair safety in ambulatory care; the NPSF Webinar on 3/15, and a "NJ Presidents Safety Award", given to an individual who impacted patient safety in a meaningful way - our infection preventionist.
